About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Science educator to lead our Science department at Rouse Hill Anglican College. As Head of Science, you will be responsible for implementing and leading the development of Science teaching and learning programs that align with the National Education Standards Authority (NESA) syllabi.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership
    • Lead a team of Science teachers in implementing and refining Science teaching and learning programs.
    • Ensure the Science faculty is well-resourced and that the Science academic assessment program is of a high standard.
    • Provide guidance and support to Science teachers to enhance their teaching practice.
  • Teaching and Learning
    • Develop and implement teaching programs that cater to the diverse needs of students.
    • Orchestrate lessons that maximize learning for all students.
    • Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve.
    • Achieve strong academic results for students.
  • Other Responsibilities
    • Contribute to the College's student wellbeing program, extra-curricular activities, and camps.
    • Participate in College events, including assemblies and chapel services.
    • Undertake rostered playground or supervision duties.
    • Attend parent-teacher meetings and other College events.
Requirements
  • Relevant teaching qualifications and experience in Science education.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Commitment to the College's Christian values and ethos.
