Overview

A service locator plays a crucial role in supporting the installation of NBN infrastructure.

The primary responsibility of this position is to identify and locate underground utility services, including telecommunications, electricity, water, and gas.

This involves conducting thorough site inspections using specialized equipment and techniques, interpreting and analyzing utility plans to pinpoint potential conflicts with NBN infrastructure.

Effective collaboration with other teams is essential to ensure a safe working environment and mitigate any potential risks.

Moreover, maintaining accurate records and documentation of all site activities is vital.

Additionally, providing recommendations and solutions to overcome challenges that may arise during the installation process is an integral part of this role.

Ultimately, adhering to all relevant health and safety policies and procedures is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting site inspections to identify potential underground services that may impact NBN installation.
  • Locating and marking the position of underground services using specialized equipment and techniques.
  • Interpreting and analyzing utility plans to identify potential conflicts with NBN infrastructure.
  • Collaborating with other teams to ensure a safe working environment and mitigate potential risks.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in underground service locating required.
  • Strong understanding of telecommunications and other utility services is essential.
  • Experience working on NBN projects is highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills are necessary.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team is required.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Current driver's license is required.
