Responsibilities:
  1. Strategic Leadership:
  • Develop and implement the mechanical design department's roadmap, aligning goals, priorities, and timelines with organizational objectives.
  • Leverage emerging technologies to enhance efficiency and profitability.
  • Analyze industry insights and market trends to drive informed decisions.
Team Management:
  • Drive team growth and development through mentoring and training.
  • Cultivate a collaborative environment promoting innovation and teamwork.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop top talent.
Budget Oversight:
  • Manage the department's budget effectively, focusing on planning, expense monitoring, and financial reporting.
  • Optimize resource allocation using advanced tools like ASANA, Everhour, Employment Hero, and GANTT.
Collaborative Engagement:
  • Act as a liaison between the mechanical design team and other departments, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Resolving challenges and maintaining clear communication channels.
Project Allocation & Oversight:
  • Strategically allocate tasks based on individual strengths.
  • Oversee project progress, ensuring timely delivery and high standards of design quality.
Solution-Oriented Approach:
  • Collaborate with the Solutions team to align project proposals with divisional budgets and objectives.
Performance Evaluation:
  • Set and monitor comprehensive KPIs for team members.
  • Regularly conduct performance reviews.
Innovation and Technology Integration:
  • Stay at the forefront of technological advancements in mechanical engineering.
  • Encourage experimentation and adoption of new tools and methodologies.
Regulatory Compliance and Risk Mitigation:
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
What We Offer:

A highly competitive salary of $150,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus excellent benefits and opportunities for professional growth.

This role is based in Sydney, and we are only considering candidates currently located in Australia.
