Strategic Procurement Manager for Capital Works

Melbourne & Olympic Parks seeks an accomplished Strategic Procurement Manager to spearhead capital works procurement initiatives. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing strategic procurement strategies that drive long-term value for the organisation.
About the RoleReporting to the Head of Procurement, you will lead the creation of category strategies, manage major tenders, and oversee the execution of State Purchase Contracts and precinct-wide agreements. This high-impact role requires strong stakeholder management and communication skills to align procurement activities with organisational objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities- Develop and implement targeted strategies for 'Focused' and 'Leveraged' spend areas, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Drive major procurement activities, including tendering processes, contract negotiations, and other significant procurement initiatives.
- Leverage data analytics and stakeholder engagement to create actionable insights and manage reporting of M&OP's Procurement Plan to track progress and optimize performance.
- Extensive experience in strategic procurement, with a focus on capital works, construction, or infrastructure.
- Expertise in contract negotiation, including the AS Suite of construction contracts.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with a track record of influencing senior leaders and driving cross-functional collaboration.
- Expertise in procurement compliance, risk management, and leveraging data to inform decision-making.
- Tertiary qualifications in business, construction, infrastructure services, project management, or related field.
The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience. Melbourne & Olympic Parks offers a competitive remuneration package, including benefits such as professional development opportunities and a dynamic work environment.
