Senior Associate Hydrologist/Surface Water Engineer

As a senior associate hydrologist/surface water engineer, you will have the opportunity to drive innovative and sustainable project solutions for clients across multiple sectors. This diverse role involves working on surface water engineering projects, applying hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software, developing relationships between internal and external clients, and providing expert advice and assistance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality surface water engineering projects to meet client expectations.
  • Apply advanced hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software to solve complex problems.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to develop models, prepare reports, and deliver results within set timelines.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients, stakeholders, and SLR team members.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, particularly application of two-dimensional hydraulic modeling (TUFLOW).
  • Experience in hydrological modeling and assessments (DRAINS, RORB, WBNM, XP RAFTS) and understanding of Australian Rainfall and Runoff guidelines and standards.
  • Knowledge and experience in associated areas of surface water engineering such as stormwater management, erosion control, water quality assessment, streamflow assessments, and flood risk analysis.
