About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Kestrel Coal Midco. This is a permanent position based on our Kestrel Mine Site, with the option to work from home or reside in Emerald.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate mechanical problems and develop effective solutions to ensure quality results.
  • Collaborate with external engineering contractors to develop project scopes, budgets, and design specifications.
  • Plan and execute projects within budget and timeframe.
  • Conduct equipment failure investigations and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Contribute to the Mechanical Engineering team's continuous improvement efforts.
  • Adhere to management and procedural plans.
  • Lead underground and surface services planning to meet infrastructure and mining needs.

Requirements

  • Mechanical Engineering degree or Mechanical Trade Certification.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably with underground coal and CHPP/Surface mining equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, and AutoCAD.
