Business Development Manager Role

This is a unique opportunity to take your business development skills to the next level in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As a Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth and expansion across the east coast of Australia.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in business development, preferably in mining or civil construction. A tertiary qualification in business management or a related field is highly regarded. Strong communication and presentation skills are essential, as well as commercial acumen and proposal writing expertise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in QLD, NSW, VIC, SA, and NZ, researching potential clients and analyzing market trends.
  • Develop business strategies and create plans to achieve short-term and long-term goals, often collaborating with the leadership team.
  • Engage with clients from operational to senior management levels, including commercial and technical contacts.
  • Build and maintain relationships through cultivating existing clients, partners, and stakeholders, as well as forging new connections.
  • Prepare proposals and tender documents, negotiate contracts, and finalize agreements with new and existing clients.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to develop business strategies that position the company as a dominant market leader.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • 5+ years of experience in business development roles, preferably in mining or civil construction.
  • Tertiary qualifications in business management or equivalent in the civil and mining sector, or a related discipline highly regarded.
  • Confident communicator and presenter with excellent follow-up and relationship skills.
  • Comfortable managing tenders, complex negotiations, and solution-based client outcomes.
  • Strong commercial acumen and proposal writing expertise with attention to detail and customer service mindset.
  • Proven ability to build relationships across all levels of an organization.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with business leaders.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite.
