About the Position

In response to a surge in innovative transactions at AGL, we are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Group Reporting and Advisory team.
This role will assist AGL in meeting sustainability reporting obligations, deliver high-quality technical accounting guidance, and uphold AGL's comprehensive accounting policies, adapting to changes in accounting standards. The position will also take a proactive role in leading and contributing to team initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the sustainability reporting team to evaluate, plan, and implement controls and processes that ensure AGL complies with current and emerging ESG reporting standards.
  • Offer expert advice on intricate accounting transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, derivatives, and legal entity accounting.
  • Develop, maintain, and apply AGL's suite of enterprise-wide accounting policies, ensuring they remain relevant as the business evolves.
  • Actively support the professional development and continuous learning of AGL's broader finance team.
  • Prepare and coordinate reports for the board that provide strategic insights into key judgments made by the group.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels and across various business lines.
  • Work with external auditors to streamline the audit process, ensuring all financial reporting adheres to required standards.
  • Oversee and manage reporting-related projects, ensuring timely and within-scope delivery.

About You

  • Extensive experience in technical accounting with a strong understanding of consolidation accounting.
  • Experience with complex accounting issues such as M&A transaction advisory, group consolidations, derivatives, and legal entity accounting.
  • Qualified accountant (CA/CPA) with experience in consulting (Big 4 preferred).
  • Familiarity with large ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Advanced skills in stakeholder management, with a talent for keeping stakeholders engaged and informed.
  • Proactive and capable of managing priorities with minimal supervision.
  • A collaborative team player who shares knowledge and experience to help develop others, contributing to team projects and objectives.
