Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist (Anaesthetist) Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist (Anaesthetist) to join our Department of Anaesthetics at a major regional facility in coastal Queensland.

About the Role

This is a full-time permanent position that encompasses the provision of specialist anaesthetic care and related medical services in the Division of Critical Care. The successful candidate will assist the Clinical Director and General Manager (Division of Critical Care) in ensuring clinical services are of the highest standard and delivered efficiently and effectively.

The role also involves assisting with the education and supervision of trainees and other medical staff, medical students, allied health, and nursing staff.

About the Department

Our Department of Anaesthetics is an ANZCA-accredited teaching hospital with six registrars, a medical school-affiliated hospital, and a friendly department with 10+ FANZCA-accredited specialists. We offer varied surgical specialty opportunities and granted private practice opportunities.

About the Location

Our regional city is within a 45-minute flight to Brisbane, providing easy access to a state capital and international airport. The region boasts a year-round climate, beautiful beaches, a scenic hinterland, national parks, education, and tourism facilities, including a turtle rookery and historical buildings.

Requirements
  • Hold the fellowship (FANZCA) or be eligible in the next few months.
  • International Anaesthetists looking to be assessed/have received Substantial Comparability.
