Position Overview
In this pivotal role, reporting directly to the Head of Engineering, the High Voltage Lead will be instrumental in supporting our service teams responsible for managing large-scale battery energy storage systems. As the primary representative of the company, you will oversee the commissioning and execution of electrical service projects across various locations, primarily along the eastern seaboard, necessitating occasional travel to project sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the High Voltage Authorised Person (HVOA) for the organization throughout Australia.
- Oversee and enforce High Voltage safety protocols.
- Manage the execution of electrical safety measures and operational High Voltage switching.
- Ensure compliance with project standards, facilitating necessary training for project teams.
- Provide assistance to the operations team in maintaining electrical infrastructure.
- Advise on audits, compliance, commissioning, and installation of High Voltage equipment.
- Support the safe operation of various High Voltage testing instruments.
- Review and enhance maintenance procedures.
- Document and maintain comprehensive records of High Voltage operations.
Qualifications and Skills
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- A tertiary or trade qualification with relevant experience.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in High Voltage electrical work within large-scale commercial and industrial sectors, as well as the utility industry.
- Experience with substations, solar energy, wind power, or energy storage systems is advantageous.
- Familiarity with network authorities across Australia.
- Certification in High Voltage Switching.
- CPR and Low Voltage Rescue certification.
- Experience with SCADA systems.
- Proficiency in procedural development.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interpret manufacturing instructions, electrical schematics, and mechanical diagrams.
- Strong interpersonal skills, capable of managing both internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- A valid driver's license.
