Forensic Leadership Opportunity

The Australian Federal Police (AFP) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forensics Operational Capability Team Leader to enhance forensic capabilities across disciplines. This exciting opportunity involves analysing operational delivery, leading capability design, driving research and innovation, and fostering cross-agency collaboration.

The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, mentor emerging leaders, manage working groups, contribute to education and training development, and identify efficiencies to streamline processes. They will also be able to adapt to changing priorities and work collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

We are looking for a motivated and experienced professional who can drive results, communicate effectively, contribute to strategic thinking, cultivate productive relationships, demonstrate personal drive and integrity, and possess technical knowledge and skills in forensic science.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the enhancement of forensic capabilities across disciplines
  • Analyse operational delivery and inform portfolio direction
  • Manage project delivery for capability design and implementation
  • Drive research and innovation to address capability gaps
  • Foster collaborative partnerships and working relationships
Requirements:
  • Australian Citizenship
  • Negative Vetting 2 (Top Secret) security clearance or ability to obtain one
  • Formal tertiary qualifications in a relevant field
  • Contemporary knowledge and at least 5 years' experience in a relevant field
