About the Role

This critical role within the Academic Services team drives the achievement of strategic and operational objectives across teaching, research, and engagement activities. Your understanding of departmental objectives and operational cycles will empower you to navigate complex challenges and optimize performance through strong stakeholder relationships. You will play a pivotal role in transforming strategies into actionable initiatives, ensuring the successful delivery of department and faculty-wide projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of the Department's strategic and operational plans across teaching, research, engagement, financial, workforce, and space requirements, while monitoring progress, evaluating outcomes, and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Oversee the delivery of all Department-led services to enable high-quality teaching, research, and engagement activities, while working collaboratively across the Faculty and broader University to improve end-to-end systems and services.
  • Advise the Head of Department on the impact and implications of changes to policies, procedures, and services, as well as planning and resource matters, while acting as a source of information, guidance, and advice for both academic and professional staff on these topics.

You are capable of juggling daily operations with longer-term strategic goals, possessing determination, adaptability, and a high degree of self-motivation. Comfortable working independently and with minimal supervision, you can navigate ambiguity effectively. Your ability to understand, interpret, and communicate complex information is teamed with a results-oriented mindset and a creative approach to problem-solving. Excellent interpersonal skills enable you to build strong relationships with team members and stakeholders, while your tact and patience ensure confidentiality is maintained.
