A leading position in Amazon's construction procurement landscape in Australia is available. The Senior Category Manager will be responsible for strategic construction procurement activities across diverse multi-million-dollar real estate projects.
The role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of Amazon's construction procurement ecosystem, drive sustainable practices, and collaborate with world-class professionals across Australia.
This position involves developing and executing construction category sourcing strategies, increasing competitiveness, and mitigating risks. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing strategies for procurement of various construction supply chain tiers (General Contractors, Subcontractors, Suppliers, OEMs)
- Negotiating large-scale construction contracts and managing complex relationship interfaces
- Providing market intelligence and strategic insights to key stakeholders and procurement leadership
- Owning individual targets and goals identified across the construction category scope
Requirements for this role include:
Key Skills and Qualifications- 10+ years experience in procurement, contract and/or commercial management within construction
- Experience developing strategies for procurement of various construction supply chain tiers (General Contractors, Tier 2/3 Subcontractors, Suppliers, OEMs)
- Understanding of the construction industry contracts and procurement processes
- Strong inter-personal and communication skills to manage complex relationship interfaces
You'll join a growing team where your strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and leadership skills will be paramount. Working in an environment that encourages autonomy and creative problem-solving, you'll partner closely with Design and Construction, Real Estate, Legal, and Finance teams to shape and execute innovative category strategies.
