Project Manager for Defence Programs

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the delivery of critical Defence projects that protect Australia and shape its future.

We are seeking experienced Project Managers to support the Integrated Work Package, working closely with the JC4S Branch team to ensure project deadlines and deliverables are kept accountable and delivered.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in project management, including scheduling, estimation, and risk management. They will also possess strong stakeholder management capabilities, with clear written and verbal communication skills.

The role involves providing expert project management services, including strategic planning, program and project management, and policy development. The candidate will also be responsible for supporting the preparation and drafting of complex correspondence, submissions, and changes during the project.

In addition to the above responsibilities, the successful candidate will be required to maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert project management services, including strategic planning, program and project management, and policy development.
  • Support the preparation and drafting of complex correspondence, submissions, and changes during the project.
  • Develop and implement project schedules, estimates, and risk management plans.
  • Maintain effective stakeholder relationships and communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards.

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree or qualification in project management or defence-related disciplines.
  • Experience in project management, with a focus on Defence programs.
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities and clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a collaborative environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
