Tarte Bakery & Cafe Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at Tarte Bakery & Cafe. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality dishes to meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook breakfast, brunch, and lunch dishes according to established recipes and standards.
  • Ensure consistent portion control and food presentation.
  • Follow all food safety and hygiene standards to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Assist in food prep and mise en place for daily service.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout your shift.
  • Assist in monitoring stock levels and communicating any supply needs to the kitchen team.
  • Help with basic kitchen tasks such as cleaning, washing dishes, and organizing kitchen equipment as needed.
  • Work with the team to ensure smooth and efficient service during busy periods.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications.
  • At least 2 years relevant experience.
  • Proven experience as a cook in a fast-paced, high-quality cafe or restaurant setting.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle a high-volume environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Creative flair and a passion for high-quality food presentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and occasional early mornings or evenings.

Remuneration:

$70,000 - $75,000 annually + superannuation.
