Job Description

The Data Modeller position involves designing and documenting data models, information architecture, report and dashboard architecture, and patterns. You will work closely with the development team to ensure that the reporting and dashboards solutions meet the business needs.

  • Develop and document data models, information architecture, and report and dashboard architecture.
  • Collaborate with the development team to design ETL processes and ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Review and document business processes, data sources, and definitions.
  • Assess requirements specifications documents.
  • Create, review, and maintain data dictionaries, taxonomies, and related artifacts.
  • Work with the business, analysts, and stakeholders to develop reporting and dashboards specification documents.
  • Ensure that reporting and dashboards solutions meet business needs.
  • This role may involve direct supervision of staff.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience as a Data Modeller & Information Architect.
  • Strong understanding of business requirements using User Stories, Business Process Maps, Use Cases, User Journeys, FPS, and SSS.
  • Excellent knowledge of data analytics, data modelling, and database structure systems.
  • Proficiency in SQL coding language for data analysis & DAX.
  • Experience with Power BI for data visualisation and Business Intelligence tools.
  • Experience with reporting tools such as SSRS.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Autonomy to work proactively and collaboratively.
  • Experience with Agile Software Development.
  • Proficiency in Azure DevOps.

  • Leadership skills with experience in delivering agreed business outcomes and solutions.
  • Advanced analytical skills with an ability to take a holistic approach to service design and delivery.
  • Adaptability to changing circumstances and multiple priorities and demands.
  • Resilience while managing a constantly changing environment.
  • Current ACT Government CMTEDD issued Personnel Vetting Program certificate (Baseline clearance equivalent).

This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of 12 months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. Opportunities for flexible working options include hybrid working arrangements, combining remote work with designated office-based time.
