Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to join our team at Deakin University, responsible for delivering innovative SharePoint solutions that meet the needs of our stakeholders.
About the Role
This is a key leadership position in our organisation, requiring strong analytical and communication skills to lead activities such as user requirements gathering, business analytics, data and research to evaluate, plan, deliver, recommend, implement and document products and solutions.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in facilitating group stakeholder meetings, negotiating with stakeholders and colleagues to achieve objectives, and working in agile delivery environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a range of activities, including user requirements gathering and analysis, business analytics, data and research, to evaluate, plan, deliver, recommend, implement and document innovative products and solutions to benefit Deakin stakeholders.
- Identify, refine and sequence bugs/operational BAU backlog items appropriately, ensuring digital products and solutions continue to meet stakeholder, security and privacy expectations.
- Actively engage and enable collaboration across teams and with a diverse range of stakeholders to negotiate inclusive and accessible solutions and achieve strategic goals.
- Integrate multiple data sources to seek trends and analyse issues from diverse perspectives and draw sound inferences and specific challenges from information available.
Requirements
- Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training (Product ownership).
- Experienced in facilitating group stakeholder meetings, and the ability to negotiate, and influence stakeholders/colleagues and their expectations, to achieve objectives.
- Experience working in an agile delivery environment working as a Product Owner, Business Analyst or Product Manager.
- Experience liaising with Product Managers, Solution Architects, senior business stakeholders, technical development teams, UX and designers.
