The City of Stonnington is seeking a dedicated professional to lead initiatives that make a lasting impact on our community, especially for older residents. As a Community Capacity Officer, you will champion community wellbeing by leading programs, events, and initiatives that support a healthy and inclusive Stonnington.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Ageing Well Action Plan to help older residents live healthier lives.
  • Build networks with service providers, community groups, and agencies to advance equity, health, and inclusion.
  • Stay informed on trends impacting ageing residents and offer insights to shape future services.
  • Conduct social research to influence Council's funding, strategy, and program direction.
  • Support the Volunteer Program, Connect and Discover Network, and manage the Community Grants process.
  • Represent Council in forums, working groups, and committees.
  • Handle reports, agendas, minutes, and other essential administrative tasks.

This full-time position offers a salary range of $80,000 to $110,000, plus 17.5% super. Located at the historic Malvern Town Hall, you'll enjoy a vibrant setting surrounded by shops and green spaces.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced professional with a passion for equity and a commitment to fostering inclusive community environments. You will have strong research and data analysis skills, with the ability to deliver clear recommendations. Effective communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to engage stakeholders are also essential.

You will need experience in community programs with qualifications in social science, public policy, or a related field. A team-oriented approach, combining strategic insight with the ability to manage multiple priorities, is highly valued. You will also be prepared to meet compliance requirements, including a Working with Children Check, Police Check. A driver's licence is preferred.
