About the Role
Aurecon is seeking a highly skilled Senior Hydrology Engineer to join our NSW Surface Water Team in Sydney/Newcastle.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, including flood assessments, hydrological and hydraulic investigations, and design for major transport, land, and water infrastructure projects across NSW/ACT.
You will work collaboratively with other hydrology and hydraulic teams, drainage teams, dams teams, and water resources advisory teams to deliver high-quality solutions for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct hydrological and hydraulic investigations and design for a wide range of projects.
- Collaborate with other teams to deliver high-quality solutions for clients.
- Lead junior staff and provide mentorship.
- Manage projects to quality, time, and budget.
- Analyse, interpret, and communicate information and modelling results.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor or Masters' level degree in civil or environmental engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in a similar position.
- Proficiency in TUFLOW, RORB, WBNM, and XP-RAFTS.
- Proficiency in GIS software such as QGIS, ArcGIS, or MapInfo.
- Familiarity with dams-related hydrology and breach assessment highly regarded.
- Familiarity with dams condition and consequence category assessments and yield studies highly regarded.
