Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and passionate Senior Educational Leader to join our leadership team. This role is designed to meet the evolving needs of our service and will report directly to the Centre Manager.

The successful candidate will be responsible for centre-wide compliance, working closely with the Pedagogy Leader to elevate educational practice, inspire reflective teaching, and drive continuous improvement across the team.

This role will oversee all aspects of early childhood education, including curriculum development, mentoring educators, and supporting the planning and assessment cycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Centre Manager and Pedagogy Leader in daily operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly and safely.
  • Guide and support educators to deliver high-quality programs aligned with sector best practice.
  • Foster a strong, values-driven culture that encourages reflective practice, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee compliance, health and safety, and ensure environments are safe, engaging, and child-led.
  • Build strong relationships with families and the broader community.
  • Be a mentor and role model for the team, bringing out the best in every educator.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or working towards it).
  • Current Blue Card, First Aid, CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis training.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • At least two years' leadership experience (Educational Leader, Assistant Director, etc.).
  • Strong working knowledge of child development theory and approved frameworks.
  • Confidence in leading teams, supporting compliance, and driving improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading curriculum development, mentoring educators, and supporting the planning and assessment cycle.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality programs that meet learning outcomes.
  • Experience in coaching/mentoring roles with educators across multiple age groups.
  • Experience using digital documentation tools.
  • Previous experience managing budgets or overseeing kindergarten funding allocations.
  • Knowledge of CCS systems and administrative operations within a long day care context.
