Senior Engagement Professional

This role offers the opportunity to lead and oversee community and stakeholder engagement strategies across diverse projects. As a senior professional, you will supervise and mentor junior team members while managing your own portfolio of complex projects.

You will take a proactive role in designing engagement strategies, resolving issues, and advising clients. Stakeholder concerns will be managed effectively, and reputations will be protected.

This is a leadership position that requires autonomy, strategic thinking, and strong communication skills. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including community members, councils, industry organisations, and government agencies.

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in communications, project management, or a related field, along with significant experience in stakeholder and community engagement. Strong problem-solving skills, facilitation abilities, and high-level reporting skills are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver stakeholder and community engagement strategies.
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members.
  • Act as primary client contact for nominated projects.
  • Coordinate hybrid engagement activities.
  • Facilitate complex consultation activities.
  • Manage stakeholder feedback and risk.
  • Develop and oversee communication plans.
  • Prepare reports and briefings.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, project management, community development, or equivalent professional experience.
  2. Minimum 5 years' demonstrated experience in stakeholder and community engagement.
  3. A current driver's licence.
  4. Proven leadership capability.
  5. Strong communication and facilitation skills.
  6. Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive or controversial projects.
  7. Strong problem-solving and creative thinking skills.
