Agricultural Industry Extension Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Agricultural Industry Extension Specialist to join our team in Tasmania. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in working closely with dairy farmers and regional networks to ensure engagement with Research, Development and Extension programs.
You will encourage participation in events and foster opportunities to discuss emerging issues across regional areas, supporting the facilitation and delivery of capability building. With your technical knowledge of dairy feedbase, nutrition or agribusiness, you will drive success in this role.
As a strong facilitator, you will support farmer-led discussion groups, and your project management experience in the agricultural sector, including events management, will help deliver key objectives. You will be open to exploring issues impacting farmers across Tasmania and the dairy industry broadly, identifying potential solutions and making a tangible difference on farm.
This is a fixed-term contract until December 2026, offering a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact. If you are passionate about agriculture and have a strong understanding of the Australian dairy industry, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with dairy farmers and regional networks to ensure engagement with Research, Development and Extension programs
- Encourage participation in events and foster opportunities to discuss emerging issues across regional areas
- Support the facilitation and delivery of capability building
- Drive success through your technical knowledge of dairy feedbase, nutrition or agribusiness
- Degree-qualified in agriculture, environment, or equivalent, or extensive knowledge of the Australian dairy industry
- Demonstrated experience in working with farmers and groups of farmers, delivering information and programs
- Strong communication skills and ability to utilise technology to promote events and capture data
- Fully maintained vehicle
