About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Regulations Officer to join our team at Sutherland Shire Council. As a key member of our Health and Building Regulations Unit, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with building regulations and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess building information certificates and ensure compliance with relevant planning policies, building codes, and regulations.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to community members on building matters.
  • Contribute to the development of policies that support effective land use and community safety.
  • Work closely with team members and stakeholders to achieve shared goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Building Surveying.
  • General Construction Induction Card NSW.
  • Class C Drivers Licence.
  • Experience in certification and building surveying.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and relevant local government acts.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Adeptness with Microsoft Office and willingness to embrace new technologies.
What We Offer
  • A competitive salary of $96,668.00 gross p.a. plus 11.5% superannuation.
  • A temporary contract for 12 months, 35 hours with a 19 day flexitime.
