Job Title: Mechanical Fitter

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for providing technical and engineering services to meet the business plan and performance objectives.

This includes engineering projects and technical investigations involving investigation, fault finding, maintenance and testing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote a Safety Culture: As a key component of an effective maintenance effort, promote and support a safety-based work culture.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management: Ensure sound communication and positive working relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Maintenance and Technical Support: Maintain and keep functional all mechanical systems.
  • Task Prioritization and Management: Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, assessing priorities and meeting agreed targets.
  • Technical Advice: Provide technical advice to assist planning of complex jobs including any safety requirements.
Requirements:
  • Certifications and Qualifications: Relevant Trade Course Certificate and Craftsman's Certificate of Proficiency.
  • Post-Trade Experience: Post-trade experience.
  • Work Schedule Flexibility: Willingness to work day or shift work as required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge and experience of plant, equipment, materials and maintenance methods used in Power Stations or similar heavy industry.
  • Plant Operation and Maintenance: Knowledge of plant operation, the inter-related effects of plant items and the consequences of plant failure.
  • Safety Methods and Commitment: Sound knowledge and commitment to safety methods.
  • Prioritizing, Planning, and Problem-Solving: Proven prioritising, planning and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Advantageous Skills: Hydraulics and Pneumatics experience advantageous.
