Electrical Engineer Job Opportunity

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Sydney. This is an excellent opportunity for you to work with a reputable company and contribute your expertise to the success of our projects.

About the Role

  • Assist the Technical Director in leading and overseeing medium voltage designs for data centre projects.
  • Support engineering/CAD resource requirements for each project.
  • Design and lead concept and detailed design of MV substation primary systems.
  • Undertake primary systems design including SLDs, HV substation layouts, equipment/materials lists, clearance checks, and short circuit force calculations.
  • Carry out engineering concept design to detailed design, tender, and contract on-site supervision to completion.
  • Liaise with the design team to produce coordinated designs that meet technical compliance and quality standards.
  • Participate in design/project meetings and provide positive contributions.
  • Maintain regular 'in house' design reviews and checks.
  • Monitor and control project progress, design variations, and financial budgets.
  • Manage contract staff or third-party appointments.
  • Develop and maintain good relations with industry networks, clients, government agencies, sub-consultants, and construction contractors.
  • Coordinate design activities, processes, and other technical standards within the MEP and CSA services.
  • Conduct technical reviews of the project at appropriate stages to ensure deliverables are achieved.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical design of buildings.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license and extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting, and signal design, including life safety systems and building management systems.
  • Strong knowledge of MV systems and relevant Australian Standards.
