We are currently seeking a seasoned professional to fill the position of Senior Property Appraiser. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert property and valuation information to support the land valuation system in NSW.

The successful candidate will possess a strong background in valuations, with experience in making land valuations, determining objection valuations, and performing asset and bespoke valuations. You will also demonstrate exceptional communication and stakeholder relationship-building skills, with the ability to provide guidance, advice, and training to a team of experts.

About the Role

This Senior Property Appraiser position plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the land valuation system. You will work closely with various stakeholders to gather and analyze data, identify trends, and develop strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Making land valuations using NSW's mass valuation system for rating and taxing purposes under the Valuation of Land Act, 1916 (Act).
  • Determining objection valuations for all types of land valuations in line with the Act.
  • Performing a variety of asset and other bespoke valuations for Government in the Commercial & Special Valuations team.
  • Providing expert property and valuation information and technical expertise to support the land valuation system in NSW.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as property, valuation, or real estate, or equivalent.
  • Associate membership with the Australian Property Institute with Certified Practicing Valuer designation or equivalent (or be eligible to obtain within 12 months of employment).
  • Current driver licence and willingness to travel.
