Property Valuation Specialist

As a Property Valuation Specialist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality valuation services to our clients across various asset classes.

  1. Assist with the external valuation process, including the formal instruction of valuers and the preparation of data packs from internal teams.
  2. Review and issue data packs to valuers, ensuring a consistent approach to governance and compliance across funds.
  3. Manage relationships with external property managers to ensure timely delivery of valuations for externally managed assets.
  4. Co-ordinate and collate feedback between asset teams and valuers on valuation financials and assumptions.
  5. Analysis of all valuation metrics, methodology, and outcomes to provide insights and recommendations.
  6. Finalisation of draft numbers with asset teams and valuers, presenting these to Fund teams outlining major changes.
  7. Review of draft valuation reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  8. Undertake internal valuations as required, applying expert knowledge of property valuation principles.
  9. Contribute to Valuation Committee papers and other presentation materials highlighting changes in valuations and market conditions.
  10. Assess leasing scenarios, property acquisitions, and divestments when required, providing expert advice.
  11. Provide general valuation advice across asset and fund teams, drawing on expertise and experience.
  12. Manage database and library of sales transactions, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  13. Build relationships with external valuers and internal stakeholders, fostering collaboration and communication.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in property, valuations, or similar business degree.
  • 5+ years experience in a major real estate agency or institution, preferably with a focus on property valuation.
  • Certified Practising Valuer (CPV) with 3+ years experience in valuing institutional grade assets.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint capabilities, with a strong understanding of financial modelling and analysis.
  • Knowledge of Forbury and/or Cougar software is highly desirable.
  • Highly numerate and strong attention to detail, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team, with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
