Procurement Category Manager Role Overview

The Procurement Category Manager will be responsible for driving procurement efficiencies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with governance and risk management frameworks. They will work closely with internal stakeholders to develop and implement procurement strategies that support both operational and commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and optimise procurement strategies across assigned categories.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with management teams and clinics to drive procurement efficiencies.
  • Risk identification & mitigation: Proactively assess and manage risks within supplier agreements and service contracts.
  • Spend & supplier management: Oversee spend under management, price lists, contract negotiations, invoice reconciliation, and consumption tracking.
  • Supplier optimisation: Implement initiatives to improve supplier performance and deliver cost and service efficiencies.
  • Governance & compliance: Ensure adherence to procurement policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in procurement category management, indirect spend categories a bonus.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to drive cost optimisation and improve supplier value.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
