About the Role:

The role involves leading a team of mathematics professionals to shape the vision and direction of the subject at a prestigious educational institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a culture of high expectations, innovation, and continuous improvement within the mathematics department.
  • Develop and implement curriculum programs aligned with the Australian Curriculum V 9 and new senior syllabus.
  • Lead and develop departmental staff, including performance development, induction and supporting their professional growth.
  • Utilize data and evidence-based practice to monitor and analyze student performance to inform teaching practice and maximize student outcomes and wellbeing.
  • Engage in professional learning and encourage innovation in teaching practice.
  • B Foster positive partnerships with external networks.
  • Contribute actively to the wider educational community.
Essential Qualifications/Skills/Attributes
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mathematics education with expertise in Methods and Specialist Maths.
  • Minimum 5 years teaching experience.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated record of academic success and curriculum expertise.
  • Deep understanding of QCAA and Australian Curriculum requirements.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth, innovation and positive psychology.
  • Proven record of building strong teams, driving improvement and staff development.
