Job Title: Lecturer in Performing Arts
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced lecturer in performing arts to join our team at Edith Cowan University. The successful candidate will have a strong background in performance studies, theatre studies, or an allied discipline, and will be able to develop, coordinate, and review teaching curriculum in the performance making discipline at a tertiary level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and teach courses in performance making, theatre studies, and allied disciplines
- Coordinate and review teaching curriculum in the performance making discipline
- Contribute to the development of the Bachelor of Performing Arts program
- Build strategic networks and collaborative relationships with industry
- Demonstrate commitment to equity and inclusion
Requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (ideally PhD, but a minimum of Masters level) or equivalent professional industry experience
- Proven track-record as a lecturer in performance studies, theatre studies, or an allied discipline at a tertiary level
- Demonstrated capacity to develop, coordinate, and review teaching curriculum in the performance making discipline at a tertiary level
- Demonstrated experience in working efficiently and confidently with teaching-related administration
- Evidenced experience as a practitioner and/or lecturer at tertiary level in contemporary theatre and performance
