This role is pivotal in overseeing logistics cost management and enhancing financial efficiency in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for managing logistics costing, analysis, and the billing team, ensuring that our operations are both financially optimized and compliant.In this vital position, you will generate comprehensive performance reports, conduct insightful variance analyses, and perform cost evaluations to uncover potential savings. Collaborating with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) will be essential to meet key performance indicators (KPIs) and cost objectives, while leading the forecasting of logistics expenses and revenues to align with corporate financial aspirations.
Key Responsibilities
Performance Reporting:
Direct the creation and dissemination of performance reports to Finance, Logistics Managers, and Product Managers. Deliver timely and precise monthly cost management and freight reports, including detailed variance analyses to support informed decision-making.Cost Evaluation:
Perform continuous analysis of process limitations, target cost-saving initiatives, and trace costs back to fundamental activities. Collaborate with 3PLs to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures while achieving KPIs and cost targets.Financial Forecasting:
Prepare forecasts for logistics costs and cost ratios, reviewing them with Finance monthly to ensure alignment with corporate financial goals. Conduct weekly and daily revenue forecasts, particularly during the month-end, to ensure revenue targets are met.Special Projects:
Engage in various special projects, analyzing and reporting outcomes, and providing recommendations for enhancements. Advise the Logistics Manager on critical matters and implement decisions accordingly.Cost Optimization:
Promote process and cost efficiency both internally and with 3PL partners. Analyze and interpret various logistical data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Monitor and analyze the cost of poor quality (COPQ) at the product division level.System Management:
Maintain master data in GERP as per operational requirements and seasonal variations. Oversee daily EDI monitoring to ensure prompt identification and resolution of errors. Manage the tariff system in GERP to ensure that contract pricing structures accurately reflect logistics costs.Data Management:
Maintain a comprehensive logistics information database for accurate reporting and analysis, and develop ongoing system enhancements to improve functionality and efficiency.KPI Development:
Review and establish new logistics KPIs and KPI incentives with the Operations Manager to ensure performance targets are achieved.Team Leadership:
Mentor and develop team members to ensure task sustainability and encourage professional growth. Foster team collaboration through backup plans and cohesive learning via Standard Operating Procedures and On-boarding Plans.Qualifications
Preferred tertiary qualifications in Accounting & Finance with a solid understanding of financial principles in logistics operations. A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar capacity is essential to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of logistics commercial management and financial analysis. Proficiency in Credit Risk Analysis is necessary to evaluate and mitigate financial risks associated with logistics operations. Proven ability to cultivate and maintain customer relations is crucial for fostering positive relationships with both internal teams and external partners. Strong proficiency in SAP is highly desirable, along with experience in RFQ (Request for Quotation) preparation. Advanced MS Excel skills are essential for data analysis, financial reporting, and forecasting within the logistics context. Agility and adaptability to rapid changes are critical in the dynamic logistics environment, enabling proactive responses to evolving business needs and market trends.What We Offer
