Senior Accountant Role Overview

This challenging and rewarding role is designed for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join a dynamic Family Office team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with high-net-worth individuals and families, combining technical expertise with client relationship management to help them achieve their financial goals.

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing expert accounting support across multiple entity types, cash flow reporting, and supporting SMSF compliance. They will also conduct financial analysis and modelling to uncover insights and identify risks or opportunities to support complex decision-making.

We are seeking a skilled and client-focused Senior Accountant who can build trusting relationships with clients and their advisors, and work closely with them to provide strategic insight and advice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Management reporting and full suite of accounting support across multiple entity types, cash flow reporting and supporting SMSF compliance.
  • Conduct financial analysis and modelling to uncover insights and identify risks or opportunities to support complex decision-making.
  • Build trusting relationships and act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals and family groups.
  • Prepare for and participate in client meetings, reviewing progress and discussing strategic opportunities.
  • Manage relationships with third-party providers, such as private banks, property agents, utility services, fund managers, and other advisors.
  • Mentor and review work completed by junior team members, offering guidance and coaching.
  • Lead onboarding of new Family Office clients, from proposal and setup through to implementation and rollout.
About You:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in consulting, tax, or accounting with exposure to family office or private client services.
  • Ability to perform complex analysis, deliver reports, and distill technical information into clear, actionable advice.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • CPA, CA, or CFA qualification.
  • Strong interpersonal, time management, and communication skills.
  • A big-picture thinker with a critical and analytical lens.
  • Client-centric mindset and ability to confidently manage relationships with HNW clients and stakeholders.
