About the Role

The Public Transport Authority (PTA) is seeking a detail-oriented Central Monitoring Room Operator to enhance the safety and security of Transperth services. In this role, you will operate CCTV cameras and other CMR equipment to monitor railway stations, adjoining car parks, and PTA properties, playing a crucial role in responding to security incidents and providing real-time support during emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor surveillance equipment to ensure the safety and security of railway stations and surrounding areas.
  • Respond promptly to emergency calls and provide real-time support during incidents.
  • Perform proactive surveillance and maintenance checks to ensure the optimal functioning of CMR equipment.
  • Provide guidance to customers and staff during incidents, and assist with administrative tasks as required.
  • Support the training of personnel in CCTV procedures and ensure compliance with safety and security protocols.

About You

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A strong understanding of emergency procedures and customer service principles.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for operating surveillance equipment.
  • Well-developed communication skills, with experience in public speaking or radio communication.
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and in stressful situations.
  • Proficient in using surveillance technology, with solid computer and software skills.
