The Department of Education, Western Australia, is seeking a leading educational innovator to join their team as an Associate Principal. This is a 12-month fixed-term, part-time position (0.4FTE) commencing Term 1, 2025.



As an Associate Principal at Greenmount Primary School, you will engage collaboratively with students, staff, and the community to drive educational excellence. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to increase their FTE to 0.6, depending on performance.



At Greenmount Primary School, we strive to create a safe and inclusive learning environment for 386 Kindergarten to Year 6 students. The Role

As an Associate Principal, you will work closely with the Executive and Leadership Teams to make strategic decisions around the implementation of evidence-based strategies and programs. This includes Visible Learning, Letters and Sounds, Seven Steps for Writing, Talk 4 Writing, Spelling Mastery, Paul Swan Maths, and Classroom Management and Instructional Strategies.



The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data literacy, the ability to support teaching staff in the implementation of evidence-based strategies, and experience in facilitating high-level professional conversations around improvement cycles in Professional Learning Communities.



To be successful in this role, you will need to promote positive relationships between students, staff, parents, and the wider community. You will possess high-level organisation and communication skills, with the ability to lead teaching and learning at a whole-staff level and at a Professional Learning Community (PLC) level.



The role includes presenting Professional Learning to teachers and providing individualised support at point of need. You will also support data literacy and interrogate data to inform whole-school improvement plans and Action Learning Cycles.



Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Eligibility

To work with the Department of Education, Western Australia, you must:





  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.

  • hold registration with the Teachers Registration Board of Western Australia.

  • obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and

  • consent to a National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit.
