We are seeking a highly motivated Education Support Teacher to join our team at the Department of Education, Western Australia. The successful candidate will have expertise in developing individualised programs catering for academic, social-emotional and behaviour goals.

The role involves working collaboratively within the school to provide an inclusive educational environment that provides additional support for individual students and their learning needs. A high level of interpersonal skills is required to foster positive relationships and establish and maintain networks with colleagues, parents and external providers.

The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of Western Australian Curriculum, particularly in Mathematics and English, and will be able to demonstrate highly effective content pedagogical knowledge and practice to improve literacy and numeracy outcomes for students. Education Support Teachers will use a variety of appropriate and differentiated assessment tools to inform student progress, provide constructive feedback and drive further learning.

Eligibility

To work with us, you must:

  • Hold an eligible qualification
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment
  • Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start
  • Consent to and obtain a National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit
