Job Title:

Lead Rail Systems Modeler

About the Role

This position involves leading a team of experts to develop and maintain rail systems models, ensuring strategic alignment and operational efficiency. You will shape the development and maintenance of comprehensive rail systems models, enhance infrastructure, optimise resources, mentor and innovate.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead strategic modelling: Develop and maintain rail systems models using software like RailSys.
  • Optimise resources: Coordinate work plans and resource allocation to meet critical deadlines and project goals.
  • Enhance infrastructure: Conduct rigorous scenario testing for rail infrastructure enhancements.
  • Mentor and innovate: Support planners in adopting new technologies and innovative methodologies.
Key Qualifications

Proven experience in rail operational planning at a management level, partnering with government stakeholders. Strong understanding of the transport sector and Victorian Government context and priorities.

  • Strategic leadership skills with the ability to influence strategic direction and drive change.
  • Well-developed stakeholder engagement and management skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence diverse groups.
  • Highly developed conceptual, commercial, and analytical skills, with a record of providing strategic advice to senior management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
