About Our City Analytics Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled City Analytics Specialist to join our team. This role will play a crucial part in shaping our city's analytics capability and supporting data-driven decision making.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in economics, social science, mathematics, statistics or technology, as well as excellent analytical, lateral thinking and initiative-taking skills.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing a robust approach to city analytics for land use and infrastructure planning;
  • Sys-temising and building on previous learnings from prototype projects;
  • Leading the shaping of program activities associated with improving, developing and integrating the city analytics capability;
  • Supporting the delivery of strategic plans, ensuring they relate to and deliver on relevant goals and objectives and delivering measurable impact.

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Tertiary qualification or experience in social science, economics, mathematics, statistics or technology;
  • Strong analytical, lateral thinking and initiative-taking skills;
  • Extensive experience in economics and statistical analysis; urban and demographic analytics background is highly desirable;
  • Systems thinking approach, understanding how city analytics integrates within our organisation and externally;
  • Experience in data analysis, presentation and interpretation, including tools like Python/R, SharePoint, Shiny and Power BI (DAX).
