About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Negotiator to join our Traditional Owner Partnership team at Rio Tinto. This is a great opportunity to lead the development of co-management and partnering based agreements with Traditional Owner groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute plans for future agreements in co-management and partnering with Traditional Owners
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams on approaches to support genuine partnerships with Indigenous peoples and communities
  • Take strategies through review process with internal stakeholders to ensure they are developed consistent with relevant commitments, regulatory frameworks, standards and leading practices in partnership development
Requirements
  • A commitment to safety and respect for others
  • Strong communication and stakeholder relationship experience
  • Broad background working within mining & resources, consulting, not for profit or Aboriginal Corporations
  • Agreements management and negotiation experience
