Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Membership Clerk to join our team. As a Membership Clerk, you will be responsible for welcoming and communicating with members and potential members, answering questions, resolving problems, and explaining membership, warehouse, and credit programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service to members and potential members, both in person and over the phone.
  • Process new memberships and membership maintenance, including keying membership information into the computer and maintaining accurate records.
  • Collect membership dues and issue receipts, as well as issue membership cards and temporary cards as needed.
  • Assist with credit applications and follow company procedures for confidentiality and discretion.
  • Participate in a rotating roster, which may include weekend work and varying shifts.
Requirements:
  • High school certificate or higher.
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol certification preferred but not essential.
Competencies:
  • Communication: Articulate information in a clear and concise manner, actively listen to others, and respond professionally.
  • Member Service: Demonstrate a professional demeanor, provide excellent service to members, and make sound decisions that reflect Costco's Code of Ethics.
  • Self-Motivated: Prioritize tasks, work efficiently, and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Team Player: Cooperate with colleagues, participate in a professional manner, and assist others as needed.
  • Flexibility: Adapt to changes in direction or assignment, and be willing to perform tasks assigned by supervisors.
