We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Operations Specialist to join our team, responsible for maintaining our reactive and routine road and associated infrastructure assets.

About the Role

  • Ongoing Full Time
  • Base salary $65,499 + maintenance allowance + 11.5% superannuation
  • Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm with fortnightly RDO

The successful candidate will be responsible for loading and unloading machinery, plant and equipment, ensuring work complies with Council's Road Management Plan and other infrastructure maintenance service levels.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Loading and unloading of machinery, plant and equipment
  • Ensuring work complies with Council's Road Management Plan and other infrastructure maintenance service levels
  • Contribute to the prioritisation of work with the Team Leader
  • Assist members of the public with enquiries relating to maintenance operations
  • Pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance of plant and equipment
  • Complete allocated work to an appropriate standard and procedure
  • Contribute to the Logistics & Procurement team by adopting safety procedures
  • Respond to after-hours maintenance response service
  • Resolve routine problems pertaining to the immediate job

About You

To be successful for this role, you will have:

  • Experience hauling light and heavy earthmoving machinery and plant
  • Civil related plant and equipment qualification and/or competencies
  • Sound knowledge of the National Heavy Vehicle Regulations (NHVR) and Chain of Responsibility (COR) Regulations
  • Reliable, have a great attitude and good attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills and professional work ethic
  • Ability to work to KPI's and targets
  • Ability to work from both Foster and Leongatha depots
  • Physically capable to carry out manual labouring tasks
  • Ability to understand and follow OH&S policies and procedures
  • Ability to use mobile devices such as smart phones and laptops
  • Current Drivers Licence and Heavy Combination license (or willing to obtain)
