Job Title: Finance Leader

The Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure is seeking a highly skilled Finance Leader to join our team.

About the Role:

The Finance Leader will play a key role in driving financial improvements within the Planning group. This position will foster knowledge sharing, elevate digital and analytical skills, and support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and implementation of finance process improvements, ensuring alignment with best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Champion the adoption of AI and automation tools to streamline reporting, forecasting, and transactional processes.
  • Provide performance reporting and high-level critical analysis and specialist advice on financial results, divisional initiatives, projects, and related issues.
Requirements:
  • Advanced Excel Skills: Experience working with accounting systems and advanced excel skills.
  • Finance Transformation: Demonstrated experience in finance transformation, business process improvement, or systems implementation within a large corporate or government environment.
  • Management Accounting Principles: Strong understanding of management accounting principles, financial operations, and reporting.
  • Ai, Automation, And Digital Tools: Demonstrated experience in AI, automation, and digital tools such as Power BI, machine learning, or large language models.
  • Tertiary Degree: Tertiary degree in accounting, business, technology, or commerce.
  • Certified Practising Accountant: Qualified Certified Practising Accountant or Chartered Accounting, or working towards these qualifications.
