About the Role:

This Data Engineer position at Hearing Australia is a fantastic opportunity to work on innovative data solutions and make a real difference in the lives of children and adults who need our services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement high-volume data applications to ingest, transform, and store data for reporting, analytics, regulatory compliance, and marketing purposes.
  • Analyze and improve the efficiency, scalability, reliability, and performance of our data platforms and systems infrastructure.
  • Translate business and analytics requirements into technical solutions and lead the development of ETL applications and scripts across various data sources and stores.
  • Practice disciplined software engineering, including automated testing, code reviews, and writing efficient and cost-effective code.
  • Contribute to team and organizational standards and support the development of strategically endorsed as-a-service solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build, manage, and support different environments through DevOps across the ecosystem.
  • Plan and manage cloud infrastructure requirements to meet achieving quality, fit-for-purpose designs.
  • Drive innovation, continuous improvement, and manage change, with a focus on creating and maintaining documentation for the platform and data solutions.

What You'll Bring:

  • University degree in computer or software engineering (Bachelor or above degree).
  • Strong experience implementing and delivering data solutions using Azure data stack.
  • Expertise in data modeling, E2E solution designing, and component-level understanding.
  • 5+ years of experience on Azure data stack (ADL, ADF, Purview, Synapse CI/CD).
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in PySpark/PySQL.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with a range of DBMS and formats, both distributed and otherwise.
  • Experience in consuming and transforming data from enterprise ecosystems.
  • Experience working with cloud data warehouses and data migration between on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Experience in implementing CI/CD and Azure DevOps.
  • Hands-on experience in real-time and batch processing data.
  • Experience in Agile, Jenkins, Git, continuous integration/deployment.
  • Hands-on experience with reporting tools – PowerBI and TM1.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work well in cross-functional teams.
