
Senior Midwifery Educator

Job Description: As a dedicated midwife, you have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in healthcare education and support. In this role, you will work collaboratively with Regional Nurse Educators to plan, implement, and evaluate education and training relevant to the clinical practice of the midwifery cohort.
- Conduct Training Needs Analyses to assess the educational needs of midwives, nurses, and assistants within the ward/unit.
- Facilitate evidence-based nursing care while adhering to standards of practice.
- Provide orientation and development support for newly qualified and junior midwives as well as other maternity care staff.
- Collaborate with Regional Nurse Educators and Clinical Nurse/Midwife Managers to develop and deliver targeted education programmes.
- Ensure compliance with essential competencies through effective documentation and record-keeping of education and training activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications: A valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, extensive clinical experience in midwifery practice, strong communication skills, a proven track record in adult education and training facilitation, experience in developing and implementing training programmes within a healthcare setting, and proficiency in digital health platforms.
