Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to fill the role of Power Engineer.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to the safe and efficient operation of high-pressure boiler turbine units and associated equipment.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a power production environment and possess strong problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate effectively as a member of the Power Production Operations Team
  • Work in a planned work environment
  • Participate in competency-based training and regulatory compliance programs
  • Assist in other locations as required and travel throughout the province
  • Maintain adherence to NERC/NPCC reliability standards related to Power Production

The successful candidate will be responsible for their personal safety and that of their colleagues by adhering to Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.

A strong emphasis is placed on solid environmental performance, and the chosen individual must support all ISO 14001 processes and initiatives. We encourage participation as a member of the Emergency Response Team.

Requirements:
  • 2nd Class Power Engineer Certificate
  • Minimum three years' experience as a Power Engineer in a generating station or industry with similar processes
  • Acceptable color vision for operation of control monitoring equipment
  • Proven problem resolution skills and flexibility
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and computer aptitude

Candidates with a 3rd Class Power Engineer Certificate or currently enrolled in the final year of a 3rd Class Power Engineering program may be considered as Power Engineer Apprentices.

As a registered apprentice, the individual will complete all papers and skills required to successfully obtain their 2nd Class Power Engineer Certificate within a specific time frame.
