We are seeking a compassionate and experienced individual to join our team as a Disability Support Worker. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to empower individuals with disabilities to live independently and engage meaningfully in their communities.
">- Support participants in their unique journey by promoting independence and meaningful engagement in their communities.
- Provide assistance across various settings, including self-care activities, community participation, respite care, and Supported Independent Living (SIL).
- Encourage personal growth, employment, and skill development to enhance quality of life.
- Build strong, respectful relationships based on trust and dignity.
- Collaborate with families, carers, and professionals to deliver holistic, person-centred support.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build meaningful relationships with participants and their families.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Awareness of cultural protocols when working with Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and CALD communities.
- Understanding of privacy and confidentiality requirements.
- Experience with High-Intensity Support and Complex Behaviour Support Management is preferred.
- Proof of Australian citizenship, residency, or valid work visa.
- QLD Open Driver's License.
- QLD Working with Children Blue Card.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card).
- Infection Control Certificate.
- First Aid & CPR Certificate (HLTAID011 & HLTAID009).
- National Police Check (less than 6 months old).
- Certificate III in Individual Support or willingness to obtain.
- Completion of the NDIS Orientation Module.
- Willingness to undergo additional training tailored to participants' needs.
- Minimum 6 months of experience in a similar role is preferred.
