About Us

This newly created leadership role offers an exciting opportunity to shape governance and processes, making a tangible impact on the community. As our Finance & Compliance Manager, you will oversee a significant grant funding program supporting community initiatives and ensure all financial, compliance, and risk obligations are met.

The position is based in Mascot, with hybrid flexibility allowing for no fixed office days. We offer a competitive hourly rate with super, as well as a 6-month contract with potential for extension.

We are looking for a seasoned finance and compliance professional who can lead with confidence in a complex environment. You will bring strong experience in finance and grants management, proven track records in budgeting, financial reporting, audits, and risk management, and leadership experience managing small teams.

In this high-impact role, you will have the opportunity to work sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, collaborate across government and community organisations, and contribute to ministerial briefings, reports, and submissions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring programs are delivered effectively, leading and mentoring a team of professionals, and providing clear and accurate financial reports and advice to stakeholders. You will also contribute to the development of governance processes and policies, ensuring adherence to relevant legislation and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee a significant grant funding program, leading and mentoring a team of professionals.
  • Ensure all financial, compliance, and risk obligations are met, including managing operational budgets and expenditure, financial reporting, and forecasting.
  • Provide expert guidance to a team of grants officers, ensuring compliance, accountability, and best practice.
  • Lead compliance, risk management, and audit processes, ensuring adherence to relevant legislation and guidelines.
  • Contribute to ministerial briefings, reports, and submissions, working closely with government partners and Aboriginal communities.
