About the Role

Caulfield Grammar School is seeking a highly skilled Design Technology Technician to join our team at the Wheelers Hill Campus. As a key member of our design and technology department, you will play a crucial role in supporting the growth and development of our students in this exciting field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Support: Provide technical support to design teaching staff and students in classes, ensuring the smooth delivery of design and technology programs.
  • Material Management: Coordinate and manage materials and equipment, ensuring efficient use and maintenance of resources.
  • Administration: Complete administrative tasks, including ordering, OH&S, and equipment maintenance, to support the effective operation of the design and technology department.
  • Exhibition and Display: Manage the exhibition and display of student works, ensuring high-quality presentation and showcasing of student achievements.
  • 3D Printing and Prototyping: Ensure efficient management of 3D printers and other rapid prototyping processes, supporting the development of innovative design solutions.
Requirements
  • Design and Fabrication Skills: Strong foundation in design and workshop fabrication skills, with experience in using workshop tools and equipment.
  • 3D Printing and Laser Cutting: Experience with 3D printer and laser cutter skills is desirable.
  • Secondary Education Experience: Experience working with secondary students (middle and senior school) is preferred.
  • Qualifications: Qualifications in a design or engineering field.
  • Driver's License: Holds a Current Driver's License.
  • Working with Children Check: Holds or is willing to obtain an Employment Working With Children Check.
  • Machinery Training: Holds or is willing to undertake safe use of machinery training.
