Caffe Gigi is a casual alfresco dining and take-away cafe with an elegant twist. Located in a prime spot, it offers an unobstructed view of Sydney Harbour, making it the perfect choice for a casual meal or a signature cocktail while enjoying the beautiful Sydney Harbour foreshore.

We are seeking a highly skilled Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing the pass, calling orders, and ensuring all dishes are served simultaneously;
  • Garnishing and plating food and ingredients;
  • Coordinating with suppliers and managers for stock ordering and returns;
  • Weighing and mixing ingredients for sauces, emulsions, and reductions;
  • Supervising special preparations for dietary needs and allergies;
  • Ensuring health and safety regulations are always followed;
  • Collaborating with the Restaurant Manager to plan menus and specialties;
  • Preparing various types of pasta and sauces according to menus;
  • Slicing, cutting, and steaming fruit and vegetables for sides and entrees;
  • Grilling, frying, roasting, and boiling steaks, fish, and other types of meat;
  • Supervising staff members to ensure food is cooked properly and in a timely manner;
  • Managing stock rotation to utilize older stock first;

About You:

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Chef;
  • Strong cooking and preparation skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple orders;
  • Strong communication skills;

Job Type: Permanent/Full-time

Salary: $73,000 - $83,000
