Theatre Set Up Aide Role

This is a permanent opportunity available in a fast-paced perioperative environment.



Responsibilities
  • Ensure consumable stock is rotated and date checked for optimal usage.
  • Complete case setups of instrumentation and consumables as per upcoming operating lists requirements.
  • Perform emergency and add-on case set ups according to bookings.
  • Set up instrumentation with missing items sterilised on demand.
  • Support Central Sterilising Services Department (CSSD) staff by putting away sterile stock effectively.
  • Assist scrub nurses with maintaining updates of Surgeon Preference Cards for smooth operations.
  • Respond promptly to calls from theatres to retrieve sterile stock when required.
  • Monitor and record temperatures in Sterile Stock Storage Rooms to ensure quality control.
  • Evaluate consumable shortages and escalate to Theatre Stores Officer and Theatre NUMs or PM Coordinator as necessary.
  • Liaise with the PM Coordinator to assist afternoon shift nursing staff with restocking and cleaning tasks.
  • Clean and put away all leftover instrumentation and consumables after completion of lists.

Requirements
  • Hold a Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (HLT32512).
  • Alternatively, hold a Certificate III in Sterilisation Services (HLT).
