Aboriginal Health Service Specialist
This role offers a unique opportunity to deliver comprehensive, culturally appropriate healthcare services to Aboriginal individuals and communities.
You will provide support, advocacy, and coordination for Aboriginal patients within the hospital setting, ensuring their needs are met in a safe and respectful environment.
A key focus of this position is to attend meetings, workshops, and other identified forums to contribute an Aboriginal perspective on healthcare programs and services. This input will be invaluable in shaping policies and practices that positively impact Aboriginal health outcomes.
To succeed in this role, you will need strong interpersonal skills, cultural competence, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You will also require excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver culturally appropriate health services to Aboriginal individuals and communities
- Provide support, advocacy, and coordination for Aboriginal patients within the hospital setting
- Attend meetings, workshops, and other identified forums to contribute an Aboriginal perspective on healthcare programs and services
Requirements:
- Holds, or aspires to hold, a minimum Certificate III qualification in Aboriginal Primary Health Care or a minimum Certificate III health qualification in the area of care in which the Aboriginal Health Worker works
